York Regional Police say on Nov. 13 a youth came forward to report that their teacher had “touched them for a sexual purpose.”
Police say a number of incidents occurred during one-on-one bible study sessions at a Markham school between September and November.
Investigators are not releasing the name and location of the school to protect the identity of the victim. Police say the accused taught there for 17 years, mainly as a math teacher.
Taurus Chung, 40, of Richmond Hill, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with sexual assault and sexual exploitation.
Police believe there may be more victims and have released a photo of the suspect.
