A multi-vehicle pile-up in Vaughan Tuesday morning is being blamed on icy roads.
York police say officers were called to the area of Rutherford Road and Pine Valley Drive just before 8 a.m.
They said multiple vehicles collided with one another due to the slick conditions, as the temperature reached as low as 3 C earlier this morning.
Police said no serious injuries were reported.
Rutherford Road was closed as crews worked to de-ice the area. The road reopened at 8:35 a.m.
Winter is still more than a month away, but the Greater Toronto Area could see some snow as early as this weekend.
“We are looking at some overnight lows close to, or below, the freezing mark this weekend. That could lead to a few flurries around the GTA, especially Sunday night,” CTV News Toronto’s weather anchor Lyndsay Morrison said.
