After several days of bone-chilling cold in Toronto, the temperature is set to climb above the freezing mark this week—but only briefly.
Meteorologist Bill Coulter says the city will see a few sunny breaks today and tomorrow, but that the “bigger weather story” will be the moderating winds that will boost temperatures tonight.
“A large low-pressure system is taking aim at the Great Lakes for Wednesday and Thursday. It will be a game changer by bringing milder air into the mix,” he said.
“Cooler winds flood in for Friday as the system pulls east. But it won’t be frigid. Morning showers will transition to wet flurries accompanied by very windy conditions for Friday,” Coulter added.
Saturday’s forecast calls for clouds and a 40 per cent chance of flurries amid a seasonal high of 2 C. Sunday will be cloudy with a high of 0 C.
