A fatal tent fire in a wooded area of St. Catharines is now being investigated as a homicide, Niagara Regional Police say.
Police previously said officers were conducting proactive patrols on Glendale Avenue at 3:15 a.m. on Feb. 10. That’s when they observed a fire involving a tent within a forested area of Mountain Locks Park.
Firefighters attended the scene to extinguish the fire. An adult male was located deceased.
On Friday, police said that their investigation has revealed that the incident was a homicide.
The victim has been identified by police as 53-year-old Kenneth Dombroskie, of no fixed address.
No other details, including a suspect description, have been released.
