Balmy weather returns to Toronto for the first weekend of October

Must read

Fall may be well underway but the first weekend of October will feel much more like summer, with temperatures about 10 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year.

Wednesday and Thursday will have a much more seasonal feel, with daytime highs of 18 C on each day respectively, Environment Canada says.

But a warmup is coming this weekend.

“A surge of warmer air will flood into the region as daytime highs for next weekend rocket back into the mid 20s,” Meteorologist Bill Coulter said this week.

“That’s great news for those uneasy with saying goodbye to the warm weather season.”

The national weather agency is calling for a high of 26 C on Friday, 27 C on Saturday, and 26 C on Sunday. The average daytime high for this time of year is about 17 C.

The balmy conditions will continue into Monday, which will see the mercury rise to 25 C. The weather will return to a more seasonal 18 C on Monday along with a chance of showers.
