A tragic incident unfolded in Toronto’s northwest end on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Police responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Martha Eaton Way and Trethewey Drive at approximately 12:27 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers found an 8-year-old boy, Jahvai Roy, who had been struck by a stray bullet in his residence. Despite life-saving measures being administered, the child was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The Toronto Police Service has launched a homicide investigation and is seeking the public’s help. Surveillance footage and any information from the area are crucial to solving the case.
