Collision with life-altering injuries closes Hwy. 403 eastbound in Mississauga

Ontario Provincial Police say a serious collision has closed all eastbound lanes of Highway 403 at Eglinton Avenue East in Mississauga.

The crash happened just before 2 a.m. on Sunday where the express and collector lanes merge.

Police say three vehicles were involved, adding that one person was taken to hospital with “life-altering injuries.”

In an update, officials say as of 6:30 a.m., all eastbound lanes remain closed as tow efforts continue.

There is no word on any charges or information on what caused the collision.

Police say the closure may last several hours and are urging drivers to consider alternate routes.
