A public secondary school in Barrie’s north end was placed under lockdown Friday after police were called to an incident at a nearby park involving students.
It happened around 12 p.m. at Barrie North Collegiate Institute.
During the lockdown, interior doors were secured, lights were shut off, and blinds were drawn.
The Manager of Communications and Strategic Priorities at Simcoe County District School Board told CTV News that staff and students followed safety protocols by moving to secure areas away from doors and windows.
Barrie police say they tracked down the student connected to the incident and the lockdown was lifted shortly after.
it is unclear why police were searching for this suspect.
Classes then resumed as normal.
